Sometimes what represents you is shameful...

I was just browsing around on cbc news right before I was about to head to bed.  I came across this story, in our very own, Winnipeg, MB, and was repulsed by the story I read.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/story/2013/03/11/mb-manitoba-housing-mould-sickness-tenant-winnipeg.html

What in god's green earth is wrong with people?  The article makes me sick to my stomach, and on some levels (very minor levels) I can relate to this story.  At the university I attend, the washrooms in my faculty building, as well as commonly in residence, stink of that raw sewage smell.  Do they bother to take the time to fix it?  Nope.  They often just put a ton of cleaning chemicals (yay, more chemicals) into the bathrooms to help be rid of the smell.  OH!  Or even better, they keep the doors open...

What ever happened to fixing a problem?  Have the bigger guys (i.e MB Housing) become so holy and mightier than everyone that they can forget about the people who made them who they are?  You are only around to represent those less fortunate than us, and give them reasonable housing.  That is all you are here for... and you cannot even fix a pipe?  Clean up some potentially deadly mould?  Acknowledge that you are causing several tenants in that complex health issues?  Really?  REALLY?!

What is happening to this world ... my god ... if this is just Manitoba, little Manitoba, what the heck is going on in the rest of the world?

Come on people ... make change.
Be the change.

Time - When you miss someone

Time is a really strange concept, idea, thing...

Time can sometimes move quickly, sometimes it moves painfully slow, to the point where you would do almost anything to help pass the time.  It is apparent in our everyday lives.  It happens to me everywhere I go; Work, school, as well as my personal life.  My boyfriend is currently in Basic Training in Quebec and I won't be able to see him until May 17th ... that's a long time.  A week alone already feels like 5 weeks.

How do you make the time go by?  How do you make it every minute, every second, worth your time?

I've learned that if you always make everything worth your time, the time will always move forward.  You also have to remember that time never stops... do don't fear the day will never end, when scientifically it will.  Make good use of every minute you have, whether it is with your loved one, with every customer that walks into your store, or every student that you have.  Everyone can value from a minute of your time, as well as the value you can gain from their time.

Times get hard, or times can be so special that you never want them to end, but the day always moves forward and it will always come to an end.  Don't let time waste away.
